The problem
The visitors are drilling managers and M&A technical leads: engineers who have been sold to by service companies for years. Adjectives don’t move them. Checkable numbers and demonstrated method do. The old site had neither, and its About page was still placeholder text.
What we did
Chose one idea and committed to it: the page is a single well, drilled live on screen from spud to total depth, with a depth counter in the header and the contact form at TD.
Built the product showcase for WellOptima around a fictional demo well, so no client data ever appears on the page.
Wrote every claim from the company’s own record. Nothing invented, every figure traceable.
Built fallback-first: the full copy renders even with scripts switched off, phones and reduced-motion visitors get a lighter tier, and the 3D scene only loads on desktop after the page is usable.
A studio perspective
Decided on purpose.
